What does a claim free period mean?

If you don’t make any non-recoverable claims between the start of your policy and the date of your first renewal notice (for a new policy), or between the date of your last renewal notice and the date of your next one, that is a claim free period.2

Non-recoverable claims are where we're unable to attempt to recover the costs of your claim.

If you have No Claim Bonus Protection and make more than one claim between the start of your policy and the date of your first renewal notice (for a new policy), or between the date of your last renewal notice and the date of your next one, your No Claim Bonus Discount level will be reduced2.
