We're still here to help with your CTP Insurance during the coronavirus pandemic. Call us on 1800 633 176 (8:30am–5pm, Mon–Fri).
Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance is a must-have for registered vehicles in South Australia. And things have changed, now you can choose us as your CTP insurer when you renew your rego.
Choose us when you renew your rego. Or, if it's not rego time yet, nominate SGIC to put us at the top of your list.
CTP Insurance helps others who are injured (like your passengers, other drivers or pedestrians) if you cause an accident. If they need it, CTP Insurance covers costs like medical treatment and lost income while they recover.
Your CTP Insurance applies to everyone who drives your vehicle.
CTP Insurance only covers injuries. It doesn't cover damage to your vehicle, other vehicles or property (but car insurance can).
We've called SA home for over 40 years, so you can be sure we've got your back.
Our team of CTP specialists are here to assist people who are injured.
We've got local know-how and understand what really matters here in SA.
How much does CTP cost?

What's changed with South Australia's CTP Insurance?
You can now choose your own CTP insurer from the list of four SA Government-approved insurers.
You can also nominate us as your preferred insurer before your rego's due.
This is different than before, when your insurer was chosen for you.
What does it mean when I nominate SGIC as my preferred CTP insurer?
If you make us your preferred insurer, we'll appear at the top of the list of insurers when your rego arrives.
It only takes a few minutes to nominate us online, and you'll be ready to go the next time you renew your CTP insurance.
Who can make a CTP claim after an accident?
Anyone who's injured in an accident can make a claim (but, if you're the driver, your injuries aren't covered if you're entirely at fault in an accident). That could be a driver, motorcyclist, cyclist, passenger or pedestrian.
If the vehicle at fault has CTP Insurance with us, our specialised team help injured people get access to treatment and care so they can get better sooner.
Where do I go to renew my registration online?

What happens if I sell my vehicle?
Your CTP Insurance stays with the vehicle so, if you sell it, the CTP Insurance will be transferred to the new owner.
