How do car claims work?

Make a claim

If you need an urgent tow call us now on 133 233

It’ll take about 15 minutes to lodge your claim online, and you can choose a Partner repairer and book an inspection time. We’ll need to know where and when the incident happened and our webchat team can help with any questions you have.

Choose a Partner repairer

We'll manage the repairs to your car through our Partner repairer network and we guarantee the workmanship for the life of the car. Our Partner repairer will inspect the damage to your car and you can book a time that suits you.

You can also choose a different repairer, but you may need to manage the repair process yourself. We'll discuss this with you.

Excess - do I need to pay one?

An excess is the amount you may need to pay towards a claim. There are different types of excesses and you may need to pay more than one. You can find your excess details on your Certificate of Insurance or you can log into Self Service Centre

If an excess applies, we'll tell you when you lodge your claim. In most cases you will be asked to pay the excess to the repairer when you collect your car. If your car is written off the excess will be deducted from the amount we pay.

Other parties

Let us know who else was involved and we'll do the rest of the work for you.

If someone else caused the damage then you may not have to pay the excess. We’ll need the name and address of the person that we agree is responsible.

Don't worry if you don't have all the details right away, you can add them later online or we will get them for you.
