When you call
You can help us help you by having your policy number and a list of lost or damaged items on hand when you call. For all claims, we ask the following questions:
- Are you registered for GST?
- What is your Australian Business Number (ABN)?
- Are you entitled to any Input Tax Credit (ITC) if you repair or replace the property damaged, and if so, what is your percentage entitlement?
- What was your Entitlement to an Input Tax Credit (EITC%) on your premium payment for this policy?
If you have a Business Insurance claim, we will also ask:
- Was the incident reported to the police
- Who reported it
- At which station
- The name and address of any witnesses
- Details of the incident that caused the damage or loss
- If any repairs have been carried out, we need to know the name of the repairer and if the account has been paid.
For liability claims, we'll ask about injury and property damage details.
For motor vehicle accident claims, we'll ask for vehicle details such as:
- The make, model and year of manufacture
- The engine number and registration number
- Financing details if applicable
- Driver details, including the licence number and any history of accidents, traffic convictions or penalties
- Details of the accident and details of witnesses
For personal accident and illness claims, we'll ask you:
- Details of the insured person’s illness or injury
- The time they have been unable to work
- We ask the insured to get the medical practitioner who is treating the injured or ill person to complete a section of the form

- Details of the loss or damage
- Was the incident reported to the police?
- Who reported it?
- At which station?
